Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next VP of Finance.  The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the financial activities of the company and is a key business partner for the leadership team when analyzing business opportunities. In addition to analyzing reports to identify problems and opportunities, this person must be a self-starter that is able to investigate and motivate their team to provide excellent service. This position is responsible for helping set financial objectives to meet goals, preparing financial reports, forecasting and budgeting, developing policies and procedures and for monitoring financial and accounting activities for the company. The VP of Finance is capable of problem identification and resolution and is very familiar with US GAAP and SOX requirements. Strong written & verbal communication skills are also necessary to effectively communicate with employees at all levels and with corporate personnel.
 
Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization
  • Provide insight and recommendations related to operational goals and forecasts
  • Review critical components of annual budgets with operational leaders and participate in the final approval of the budget
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, development and evaluation of the
  • Finance staff
  • Perform various financial analyses on projects to assist operations, logistics and sales
  • staff in evaluating opportunities
  • Set, monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Represent the organization as liaison with external auditors, state and local taxing authorities, insurance companies and attorneys
  • Direct activities of the credit and collection process
  • Oversee monthly financial closing process, forecasting and annual budget preparation
  • Research and resolve accounting & system issues
  • Insure balance sheet integrity through review and analysis of general ledger accounts
  • Coordination of SOX & financial audits with internal' & external auditors
  • All other duties, as assigned
 
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in a combination of public accounting and industry (manufacturing
  • experience preferred)
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Computer skill set to include experience with an integrated accounting software package (Microsoft Dynamics SL and FRx preferred) and competency with MS Excel
  • Must be well-organized, attentive to detail and possess solid interpersonal communications skills
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • A team player willing to do whatever is necessary to meet deadlines, get the job done and help the company to succeed
