Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next Supply Chain Manager.  The Supply Chain Manager will provide coordination between the Customers, Operations, and Suppliers. The candidate will ensure the design and successful execution of Supply Chain strategies and processes in addition to supporting the day to day activities around planning, purchasing, customer service and logistics. The manager will drive enhancements in our ERP system to continuously improve on-time delivery to customers, reduce supply chain costs, optimize inventory turns, and increase vendor performance.  A strong candidate is one who can demonstrate an ability to design and implement strategies and processes while demonstrating a strong, hands-on approach to learning the company s products and practices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the order entry process to drive improvements in order accuracy and entry efficiency

  • Monitor and improve on-time delivery performance to our customers

  • Assist with developing pricing strategies for products

  • Manage the Sales and Operations Planning Process by generating/using sales forecasts, inventory information, production constraints and supplier capabilities

  • Build and develop relationships with sales, engineering, operations, and finance to manage product life cycles

  • Develop and manage inventory strategies across the supply chain to achieve business objectives

  • Lead negotiation of supplier contracts and management of vendors to ensure price, volume, quality and delivery criteria are met

  • Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities across the supply base and all material groups

  • Build and develop relationships with key suppliers, collaborating where possible to improve costs, quality and responsiveness

  • Lead efforts to strategically source material groups with new and existing suppliers

  • Review and approve Purchase Orders as necessary

  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international corporate logistics programs

  • Resolve service issues with transportation companies

  • Oversee the Supplier Quality Program in conjunction with the Quality Department

  • Manage new raw material approval process

  • Lead Corrective Action efforts involving suppliers

  • Establish, implement and ensure compliance of supply chain policies and procedures

  • Maintain, communicate, and improve Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators

  • Improve effectiveness of our ERP system

  • Continually develop expertise in Supply Chain team to support company growth

  • Complete other special projects and analyses as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in business, supply chain, engineering or similar field

  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain role

  • Experience with multiple Supply Chain disciplines, including customer service, forecasting/planning, logistics, purchasing or quality

  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to structure and solve complicated problems

  • People management experience

  • Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage workload

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel

  • Previous experience with an ERP/MRP system is required

  • Travel as necessary
