Plant Manager - Manufacturing

Western Kansas City

$90K - $100K plus incentive bonus

Our client has hired Bell & Associates to help them find their next Plant Manager. This person will provide leadership and management for the entire plant operation consisting of 65 employees in a manufacturing facility. Providing leadership over various key functions of the plant including safety, quality, finance, purchasing, maintenance, production planning, continuous improvement and human relations, this person will assign resources necessary to support broad functional objectives.

Ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years experience in manufacturing and a drive to advance within a company with strong growth potential in operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the overall business environment.

  • Implements strategic and tactical plans for the plant operations.

  • Assists in preparing an annual business plan.

  • Identify and provide guidance in addressing causes for shortfall from plan.

  • Take a leadership role to request, initiate, and provide, corrective action through available resources.

  • Assists in developing plans to achieve short and long-term goals.

  • People Development.

  • Monitors all controllable manufacturing costs.

  • Develop plans for the elimination of non-value adding costs and aggressively pursue continuous process improvement.

  • Champion and embrace Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • Take appropriate actions to reduce unnecessary labor costs.

  • Remain accountable for meeting business safety plans and expectations.

  • Aid in the development and support of business safety strategies.

  • Total adherence to all policies and promote safety practice throughout the organization.

  • Ensures plant alignment with corporate personnel, business integrity, and other enterprise-wide policies.

  • Ensure Alignment with Production, Scheduling, Planning and Purchasing.

  • Assesses scrap & rework levels; ensure process capability problems are identified and resolved.

  • Evaluate customer complaints and trends to determine resources necessary to meet customer needs.
