Bell & Associates, Inc. has been engaged to recruit our client s first Plant Controller for a recently acquired Manufacturing business unit.  Our client is a private equity backed holding company of multiple manufacturers.  The CFO is looking for a hands-on Plant Controller to implement Accounting processes and future system implementation.  He is also looking for future succession planning, so career advancement is likely for a top performer in this role. 

 

This role will be a key asset to the growth of the company. This individual will be leading the financial and accounting for merging all acquisitions accounting functions. Leading the decisions on how and when to structure the new acquisition.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting functions of all new acquisitions

  • Responsible for managing operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy

  • Responsible for managing system hardware and software applications

  • Provide technical systems support to company acquisitions

  • Lead the accounting transition to the Platform Software and into the corporate accounting team

  • Serve as project manager for any system implementation or upgrades

  • Development of operational procedures and documentation of data flow

  • Support most aspects of accounting management

  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with GAAP and established best practices

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements

  • Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts

  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit

  • Help in development of reports for management

  • Review the company s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances

  • Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 3 - 6 years of experience in public/private accounting preferred

  • Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)

  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills

  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize

  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability

  • Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
