Our client has engaged Bell & Associates to help them find their next Manufacturing Manager.  The Manufacturing Manager role is responsible for the overall management of department personnel, the compliance with plant policy and procedures, and achieveing the business unit's mission and business plan.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of Safety Program implementation and compliance for the Atchison facility

  • Develop quality control standards that are maintained in line with the quality policy and ensure all staff in the department are trained and follow the standards as established
  • Take corrective action to eliminate any potential quality losses through the analysis of work operations, quality records, and customer complaints
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly plans are developed and implemented to meet production requirements and ensure on-time delivery
  • Establish goals and conduct performance evaluations with all managers and support the further rollout to all applicable levels of the Atchison location

  • Analyze delivery schedules and meet on time delivery goals

  • Monitor labor and material cost to meet variance goals

  • Communicate company information, issues and goals to all production employees

  • Develop communications across departments to achieve continuous improvement goals
  • Provide training programs to assure all levels of personnel are properly trained in procedures, techniques, practices and the safe use of tools
  • Support and oversee that supervision and employees follow all required State and Federal labor laws
  • Assure employees and supervision are properly trained and adhere to environmental policy compliance and best management practices to protect the environment
  • Support the company s Employee Rehabiliation Policy

  • Setting minimum standards & procedures to maintain housekeeping and a safe work environment

  • Work with procurement and vendors to review and purchase material and equipment to meet manufacturing needs including the writing and submitting of Capex requests for review
  • Plan and submit financial budgeting information and plans for the facility
  • Participate in cost saving or process improvement projects
  • Provide direction on recruitment efforts to ensure proper staffing for the facility and actively participate in interviews and other activities to support hiring
  • Develop leadership skills in members  and perspective members of the leadership team
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and direct the work of others
  • Able to handle multiple priorities at one time
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams including sales, finance, and others
  • Highly motivated to achieve results


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five or more years in Foundry Operations or equivalent experience
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Five years supervision experience required

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Prefer computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • Problem solving skills
