Bell & Associates, Inc. has been engaged to find our client s next IP Client Billing Specialist.  This is a great opportunity to join a nationally based company that leads their industry while growing while looking after its employees.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced his individual is responsible for managing the unbilled inventory for a portfolio of top revenue-producing clients and lawyers. This includes producing invoices for clients with complex billing arrangements and adhering to outside counsel guidelines. This position will work closely with attorneys and their assistants, client contacts and Finance staff to ensure the billing process is done in a timely and accurate manner.



  • Manage billing process (proformas to final billing is completed accurately & timely)

  • Partner closely with attorneys to provide accrual information that is timely and accurate, general information requested from attorneys, clients, and administrative staff regarding inventory, time/const entries, billing reconciliations and aging reports

  • Manage and maintain documentation of client guidelines to adhere to compliance standards

  • Be the go-to for prompt resolution of billing issues

  • Manage documentation, including procedures, deadlines and attorney preferences related to billing

  • Leverage Finance management and Practice Group Administrators to escalate problem accounts as needed

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of client terms, discount arrangements, along with lawyer and client preferences

  • Handle special requests for rates and alternative fee arrangements are communicated to the Director of Pricing for review and approval

  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Professional requirements:

  • Bachelors or hire in Accounting/Finance or related degree

  • Advanced Excel

  • 3+ years in a IP billing role

  • Superb written & verbal communication along with high attention to detail in analytical setting

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a professional services environment using time and billing software such as Elite or Aderant.
