Our client has engaged Bell & Associates to help them find their next Executive Director of Human Resources.  This role will report to the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer.  This position exists to direct local human resources within company guidelines, contracts and budget to maintain a positive, safe and secure working environment. You will be a strategic partner providing effective communication, employment, payroll coordination, compensation, performance assessment, benefits, safety and wellness programs, leadership development, education, succession planning, Title VII and EEO compliance, community awareness and policy administration in support of the company s overall mission.

 

Essential Functions

  • Participate and advise on corporate strategic talent management and development.

  • Advise and communicate employee coaching and counseling

  • Counsel on adherence to employment law and provide options and solutions.

  • Policy creation and adherence.

  • Investigate charges and maintain Title VII compliance and EEO guidelines.

  • Lead and develop HR department staff.

  • Maintain department expenses to a balanced budget (or under budget).

  • Sourcing, interviewing and recommendation of new hires.

  • Coaching and counseling new leaders as they address performance problems.

  • Leave compliance as related to FMLA and ADA.

  • Maintain appropriate warehouse staffing levels within warehouses assigned, as well as meet hiring retention needs within the corporate departments.

 

Requirements

  • B.A., preferably in HR or applicable field. SHRM Certification and or master s Degree preferred.

  • At least 12 years of progressive HR generalist management experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of applicable employment laws.

  • Previous experience in BOTH a Corporate and Field environment  

  • Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel and PowerPoint. PowerPoint to create and present company presentations. Excel is critical to budget creation and expense tracking. Word is essential to document creation.

  • Exceptional business communication

  • Effective listening and alternative dispute resolution skills

 

Physical Requirements

  • Perform bending, squatting, sitting, and reaching.

  • Must be able to move throughout various buildings, conduct training as requested.   

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds, to move office equipment and supplies as needed.      

  • Must have excellent attendance.

 

Working Environment

  • Standard office/store environment. 

  • Traditional warehouse environment with loud noises, fast moving equipment, with limited exposure to the outside environment.

  • Must be able to work nontraditional hours as needed (before and after normal office hours and weekends).
