Bell & Associates, Inc. has been engaged to help our client find their next Controller. The Controller works with the General Manager and the management team by providing systems, administrative, planning, and analysis support and recommendations. This person will oversee all data and the accounting process flow. They will support business strategy and plant operations by performing business unit specific AP, AR, GL, Payroll, Cost Accounting and Financial Planning and Analysis functions including providing financial information to corporate/business unit management by researching and analyzing financial data and preparing reports. They will act as a key member of the senior management team and foster a proactive orientation in the financial and IT areas, recommending and implementing solutions to company issues and ensuring priorities are aligned with strategic objectives and financial controls.
Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling / analyzing account information.
Prepare monthly internal financial statements and trial balances.
Establish regular cadence of frequent internal corporate level operating reviews including Weekly Pulse Report (rolling 12 weeks), Monthly Management Reviews and Quarterly Management Reviews to management.
Document financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Guide clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
Support the audit process and tax preparation process each year (Q1).
Prepare payments by verifying receiving documentation and requesting disbursements.
Develop methods to secure favorable payment terms with vendors (company preference is 2%/10, net 60)
Develop and report on Capital Expenditures budgets, actual spending and forecast needs.
Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Drive decisions throughout the organization using key performance indicator reports, policies, metrics and analysis compiled by working closely with Operations and communicate any early warnings of deviations.
Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards advising management on needed actions.
Develop annual and monthly business plans, budgets, cash flow analysis and forecasts as part of the corporate planning process.
Develop pricing models to assist in new business development and engineering development projects.

BS in Accounting
5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
MBA preferred, but not required
Capable of addressing MIS issues by interfacing with company IT sub-contractor
Strong background in Cost Accounting principles and application in component manufacturing job shop environment
Reporting Skills, Attention to Detail, Deadline-Oriented, Reporting Research Results, Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management, General Math Skills
Experience with MRP systems required, specifically CSI-Syteline experience a plus. Database analysis capability a further plus
Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies and the ability to understand and analyze changes in the business model
