Bell & Associates has been engaged to help our client find their next CFO.  The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the financial, administrative, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts (and other Key Performance Indicators)

  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth and profit improvement plans of company

  • Partner with other team members to develop and deploy growth and profit improvement plans

  • Support development and deployment of systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information

  • Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency

  • Communicate, engage, and interact effectively with the Board of Directors, the CEO, and the Executive Leadership Team

  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team by participating in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives, annual improvement priorities, and operational goals

  • Implement policies, procedures, and processes as deemed appropriate by the senior leadership team

  • Oversee the preparation of and present the financial Budgets, Forecasts, and actual results including weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual Income/EBITDA statements, Cash Flow Statement, and Balance Sheet

  • Review and analyze financial results vs Budget/Forecast and provide analyses, recommendations, and corrective actions

  • Identify, develop, and execute analysis of strategic initiatives, product launches and/or new service offerings

  • Support development of annual 3 year Strategic Plan and associated financial statements

  • Manage financial planning and analysis department

  • Supervise the creation of reports and tools for budgeting and forecasting including a standard weekly financial performance tracker

  • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the company s Budgets and profitability

  • Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all area s

  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for company, lenders, investors/sponsor and the Board of Directors

  • Oversee the development and adherence of tax strategy and preparation and timely filing of all local, state. and federal tax returns

  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems

  • Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds availability and compliance

  • Maintain banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners

  • Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance relating to the collection process Leverage existing funding/bank relationships and add new relationships and funding sources as required

  • Represent the company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, public auditors, and officials.

  • Work with all departments to ensure appropriate legal due diligence and compliance

  • Oversee Property, Casualty, and Health insurance programs to ensure appropriate balance of risk and cost

  • Manage commodity and currency hedging as needed

  • Oversee Capital investments requests (AFE s)

  • Hire, develop, and manage accounting directors, managers, and staff

  • Coordinate and strategize methods used to attain team goals with the Corporate Controller and the Regional Finance and Accounting leaders globally

  • Mentor and develop a team of managers and/or directors; managing work allocation, training, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective and efficient team dynamic

  • Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of direct span of control as needed

     

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA and MBA or equivalent

  • 6-8 years minimum experience as a CFO in a $200 million+ company

  • 4-6 years leading corporate finance work with a myriad of funding sources and banks

  • 4-6 years of financial analysis and planning experience including DCF modeling, valuation, Capital Appropriation Approvals, Make vs Buy analyses and other data drive analytic capabilities

  • 4-6 years with strategic planning, business development, and executive support in order to provide counsel, support, and thought partnership to the CEO, the Board, and other Executives

  • 8-10 years of experience managing and developing talent from all levels of an organization;

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence ability to motivate staff and others

  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently with limited direction but actively collaborate with colleagues and other associates
