The CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of
the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued
by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory and advisory
organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and
practices appropriate within the industry.
The CFO is also responsible for adhering to and promoting the company
values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a company
executive leader and will facilitate the continued profitable growth of the company.
Participates in strategic planning process and development of company plans and programs as a strategic participant including providing financial and risk management input and leadership on issues affecting the organization and shareholders; i.e., evaluation of initiatives; potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers; and employee retirement investments.
Evaluate and advise the executive team and the Board on the impact of long and short range planning, existing and new programs/strategies and regulatory requirements/action.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the company s fiscal, risk management, and information technology function and performance.
Contributes to business planning activities; including creation of business goals, the support for why they are believed attainable, and the plan for reaching those goals to include budgets and proposed results.
Management of capital resources and assets to include strategies to provide access to capital for business growth and improvement.
Develop credibility for the accounting/finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will optimize profitability, and improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation, meet regulatory requirements and manage risk.
Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
Continual improvement of the reporting and budgeting processes through education and coaching of department managers on financial issues.
Monitor and optimize cash flow operations. Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position.
Advise from the financial and risk management perspective on any contracts into which the company may enter.
Fiscal oversight of employee payroll, benefits, and retirement plan.
Evaluate the accounting/finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group to include providing direct reports with professional development and personal growth opportunities.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing and hiring; training and development; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining; addressing complaints and resolving problems; inspecting work; scheduling; future growth with business plan model planning; and coaching and counseling.
Contributes to executive team effort by actively participating in team meetings.

A Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
5 - 10 years experience as a CFO or other related experience generally required.
A CPA or MBA would be preferred.
Strong leadership skills such as the ability to understand the team needs and characteristics, has the utmost integrity, and the ability to be decisive when necessary.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed information to customers, coworkers and management.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact in a positive and professional manner to develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, coworkers and management.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, procedure manuals, and job instructions.
Ability to write detailed reports and business correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to operate computer and computer software, to include Microsoft Office.
Ability to use department equipment such as computer, cell phone (including texting abilities), fax machine, copy machine, and telephone.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
