Our client has engaged Bell & Associates to help them find their next CFO/Controller.



  • Fully accountable and responsible for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. Including, but not limed to, all aspects of the accounting of the company, the production of timely periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of records, and comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the reported results. Includes all aspects of cash management and risk management. Properly accounting for jobs-in-process using percentage of completion accounting.

  • Act as a strategic business partner to the President, provides timely insight into current financial health as well as financial ramifications of various future scenarios

  • With input from other senior managers, develop the annual operating budget for approval by the President including contingencies for operational adjustments to maintain a balanced budget

  • As part of the Executive Team, evaluate departments and make suggestions for improving processes and increasing work efficiency

  • Assist in the creation of yearly financial objectives that align with plan for growth and expansion

  • Ensure accurate production of monthly financial reports for the President and key senior managers which include actual vs. Budget, periodic reforecasts and other financial metrics as required

  • Provide supervision and performance evaluation for finance division staff and ensure that staff are trained in relevant databases and financial software
  • Manage the accounting (Payroll, A/R, A/P), human resources, legal, tax (payroll, state and federal taxes), and treasury departments

  • Leveraging Excel to develop forecasting and reporting that drives business insights

  • Responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting for all government agencies and funding sources as well as compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements

  • Refine existing key performance indicators and financial ratios for measuring financial performance of the company and its component parts

  • Develop a standing financial reporting process and report weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually on key financial data

  • Monitor and report on overall financial status by analyzing yield results

  • Co-manage banking activities and develop financing alternatives

  • Monthly travel (a day here and there to the other companies) is required. Additional travel may be needed hinged on the President's deal involvement with other operations or upcoming transactions



  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a manufacturing company

  • Manufacturing, Industrial industry experience

  • Ideal candidate needs to be someone who can communicate well with the blue collar workforce but also sophisticated enough to sit down at a deal table and negotiate M&A transactions

  • Expertise in working with Access or equivalent Data Base Software

  • Familiarity with writing formulas or functions in Access or Excel

  • Experience in effectively managing day-to-day financial operations

  • Preference may be given to candidates with a CPA designation

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and fiscal management software

  • Expertise and working knowledge of ERP systems

  • Ability to work in a strong partnership with the President
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-entity and multi-cultural environment.
