Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and review the monthly tax provision process for all entities/jurisdictions; reconcile tax accounts monthly and book true-up entries as needed.
  • Prepare tax footnote for quarterly and annual financial statements for all entities / jurisdictions.
  • Manage and review the tax payments process for all entities/jurisdictions.
  • Assist in coordination of federal, state, and income tax compliance preparation with third party accounting firm, prepare work papers/schedules and review completed returns.
  • Manage annual property tax renditions and payments process and sales and use tax processes for all entities / jurisdictions.
  • Prepare contemporaneous documentation to comply with the Transfer Pricing rules and regulations for all jurisdictions in which the company operates.
  • Assist in manage tax audits and respond to tax notices and inquiries for all entities / jurisdictions.
  • Research various tax issues, summarize / document impacts to the company and communicate with appropriate individuals.
  • Recruit, retain and grow a world-class team.
  • Model and ensure the leadership is in place to promote and enhance the company values.
  • Responsible for the direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned team, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and managing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Understand applicable company policies, procedures and other job-specific instructive documents and materials.
  • Conduct business, perform job duties, and provide oversight in a manner consistent with the requirements set forth in all company policies, procedures and other directives, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete all compliance training assigned to them to understand the key provisions of law, regulation and internal policies and procedures applicable to their job duties, as well as the impact of non-compliance on the company s reputation and success.
  • Raise concerns about any practice(s) believed to be a violation of, or inconsistent with, company policies, procedures or other directives, or in violation of legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor processes and procedures to ensure safety and compliance.

Skills and Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in tax accounting and income tax compliance include experience in a managerial role.
  • Ability to solve complex problems and to transfer strategic goals into short and mid-range tactical objectives.
  • Highly adaptable to change and comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with senior and executive management.
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and dig-in to understand the business and systems.
  • High attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare a concise and relevant analysis in excel and PowerPoint.
  • Responsible for the coordination of assigned team, including training employees; planning and assigning, and resolving problems.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Education or Equivalent Experience

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Master s degree in Taxation from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • CPA Certification preferred.

50% Travel Required to the Wichita, KS area.
